It is entitled "Brutal Sound FX Compilation And Exhibition Of Strange Fact".
Enterruption from Seattle, Washington has released this great compilation last year.
It should be rather called "banquet" but they called it "fact".
It is great whatever its name is.
First of all my favorites are included.
Loachfillet did the great cover art using unique sense of collage.
It reminds me of Lewis Carrol encountering the The Outer Limits world,
because I prefer The Outer Limits (in ' 60s) to The Twilight Zone.
Loachfillet also supplied an opening track for the double-cassette album
under name of Diatric Puds and the Blobettes.
Sharkiface and Anti-Ear, participants in this compilation, locate at core of my favorites!
It is exciting to encounter them and those whom they have highly recommended me.
And these compilation cassettes bring me nice atmosphere.
Well “atmosphere” corresponds to “kibun” in Japanese.
I love the term “kibun” because no one knows what “kibun” is.
And this Strange Fact compilation apparently brings us great kibun.
The kibun is electrinic, punk, raw, vital, strange and banqueting.
Their music often sounds noisy but unique kibun is transmitted to us through a wall of noise.
It is a fantastic magic of music.
Anyway......
Format of 4 LPs seemed to be planned for release of this compilation.
But cassette has been chosen as a vehicle instead.
I feel that it is a great and tasteful choice.
I was grinning after I knew that originally planned format was LP.
It is so cool that they did not choose CD-R as medium.
Of course CD or CD-R is so convenient medium to record and reply music.
Choice and application of desired track is so easy.
But cassette brings us a different way for spending time and a unique sound quality.
I have recently introduced several media as show-case of U.S. West Coast underground in this blog;
“String of Artifacts” beautifully edited by Loachfillet,
“California Ax” as an expended outfit from Sissy Spacek,
“L.A. Noisescape” compilation that is so hectic from Bastardised,
and “California” vinyl thickness from RRRecords – Troniks – Ground Fault Recordings.
These were relaesed from 2005 to 2007.
Different people compiled music from similar area at similar period.
I recommend that you listen to thiese great magnetic tapes in conjunction with these
classic compilations of Californian underground.
It is great that some labels continue musical release using cassette as medium.
In fact it is rare that we see cassette release in Japan at present/
Vinyl, cassette, CD, other types of digital memory-storage medium, data download
possess own advantage respectively and will co-exist.
Never feel cassette-tape media inferior.
Please consider a cheap cassette player instead of 2 CDs to purchase if you do not have it.
They said that this set of 2 magnetic tapes was published in an edition of 200.
A copy that I obtained was # 192.
